???

So, is only the players, manager and board who should put the effort in?

Strangely enough, a similar atmosphere was not to be found in Liverpool's last match away at the viler.

Passionate when they can be bothered. Self-congratulatory whenever they're breathing.

Don’t get me on the subject of Liverpool fans, it was the same in the 70’s they used to refer to Liverpool fans as ‘good humoured’ and almost angelic when in fact Liverpool is a very unpleasant place to visit.

maybe if we had a stadium that got filled and that is bigger than it is, and we were playing in europe and the big comps every year like them then maybe we could, but fighting our hardest and struggling to stay at the top of the championship it's not going to happen is it

sorry if i sound pesimistic just tryng to be realistic

useful inputs

Like others have said, I think anyone could create a good atmosphere after winning at the Nou Camp and going through to the Champions League quarter finals. I do wish we had a bit of a flag culture though - Newcastle and Liverpool look great at away games when the score and wave their flags IMO

You do realise that we did actually beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp many moons ago don't you?

Wonder how many noses went. When I've finished building my time machine that will be one of the first time and places on the list to visit.

out of all the clubs that should have the right to be standing for a lengthy duration and waving flags, Liverpool must be the last, deep down most of their fans are still as bad as those from Heysel, but nowadays they put on big smile for all the Europeans to see how nice and sweet they are

was anyone on here alive to seen Birmingham City beat Real Madrid 3-0 and draw 3-3 with Borussia Dortmund in 2 friendlies at St. Andrews?

and the two UEFA Inter Cities Fairs Cup finals V Barca and Roma?

:applause: :applause: Too right mate. They've always been a bunch of bottle chuckers.

But then again, "They know how to laugh up there don't they?" I used to hate watching hilarious Scousers talking to Tony Gubba on Sportsnight before the derby game, If you're old enough to remember how it used to go;"I reckon It'll be three apiece, Heighway will get threee, Dalglish will get three and Hughes will get three." Ha ******** Ha.

Not to mention my irritation at the fact that they were all completely innocent of having anything bad to do with Hillsborough; like trying to rush the gates to get in free. (Not that that exhonourates the South Yorkshire police)

What do you mean still alive?
I was and I did and I am a long way from being in my box, even one at St Andrews

Those were the days when you got into Europe by invitation and those finals that you mention were the equivalent of the eventual UEFA Cup and I guess now the Champions League following the revamp!

Agreed, the very simple fact is that if thousands of scousers had not decided to turn up without tickets then try to drink as many pubs dry from the M62 to Hillsborough, and then leave the pub at the last minute, and cause panic and chaos outside the ground. All this time the true fans were in position in the ground, I don’t quite know how this low life can look other people in the eye, oh yes they did a great job of mourning the poor folk who got there early.

Tuesday 25th November 2003 Arsenal beat Inter Milan 5 - 1 at the San Siro. Remember congratulating an Arsenal that they'd finally caught up with us :)

Exactly. There are plenty of teams with better fans than the scousers. This myth created by the media than Liverpool fans are the greatest is a joke. Each time I see the Anfield mafia on the BBC going on and on about their fans I want to vomit. They all come out on "European nights", but can't be ar*ed to sing at all for a lot of Prem games.

I hate 'em. :banghead:

As do I, regardless of whether they're talking about the fans or not. BBCs infatuation with Liverpool is an embarrasment

Yes I remember sitting in the Main stand with my kids in the season we had the wall collapse withe Leeds Fans, and that young lad was killed. Liverpool visited us a few games before. I had to move my kids away as they were throwing darts into the stand. Nice people, Blah they stink.
